Sydney Frontrunners will be volunteering again to help marshal the Sydney Marathon on Sunday 31 Ausgust 2025. This is great way to be part of the Marathon. This year we are reaching out to other LGBTQIA+ spots clubs to help us reach the target of 36 volunteers.
Our area rightly centres on Taylor Square. There will be lots of music and some drag entertainment. You will also have front row seats for the elite runners and will be able to cheer on Frontrunners from around the world as they head up Oxford Street and later run down it.
The role involves making sure the course remains clear for the runners, helping runners who may be in difficulty including calling for medical back up where necessary ... and lots of cheering.Volunteers will receive an official teeshirt to wear and snacks.
The race starts at 6.30 am and so volunteers in this area need to arrive by about 7am. We will finish about 2.30 after which we will head to a local bar to celebrate with the Frontrunner finishers.
